In 1961, the building remained solely as R & R Yarn Shop, until 1988.
This image is of Renata Kuehl, owner of the R&R Yarn Shop in 1974. From the Daily Northwestern newspaper, Jan. 17, 1974.
Mrs. Kuehl continued teaching classes in her store. She taught many women (and a few men) how to knit and crochet. She kept a detailed notebook of projects that friends and customers were working on, including the color, number and pattern so if additional materials were needed, she had the information. She was most proud of teaching others.
Mrs. Kuehl owned the building until her retirement in 1987, at the age of 85! The Bernat yarn company supplied yarn to the shop throughout Mrs. Kuehl's entire career.
